Managing Design Projects - Binder Lust #Boston
My birthday is August 24th. You have just over a month to figure out a present for me. I'm turning 40, so this is NOT the year to cut corners. Technically, this makes me a Virgo. I'm a Leo. I've even had people ask me if by chance my mother got the dates mixed up, I mean I am SO obviously a Leo. My desk and my dressing space often conjure up War Movie Imagery - papers or clothing strewn every which way. However, the one or two Virgo strands in my DNA aspire to organization. I practically SALIVATE when I see something that is beautifully organized. I don't create in order, I thrive in Chaos but I love seeing my chaos eventually compiled into something worthy of Organization Hallowed Ground.
Our Boston project is mostly complete in terms of the conceptual design. One of the keys to working long distance however, is to ensure that the client has a working Bible if you will which houses all of the items specified and their corresponding finishes and fabrics. This Project Binder is our way of making sure that we are LITERALLY on the same page when discussing aspects of the projects. It's also imperative to have in hand when making approvals once a budget has been sent out. I've had clients forget our fabric scheme moments walking out the door for a single room with two fabrics in it, can you imagine an entire house?
We are very proud of our Project Binders. It's silly to revere it this much but to us, it's a testiment to a lot of hard work and collaboration and I'm excited to share a sneak peek of it with you!!
