Whirlwind Week in a Heat Wave. Good thing sweating = water weight loss.
Unfortunately, looking like you are melting sorta defeats the purpose. Fortunately, I don't really sweat on my face or so a stylist on a TV show I used to do used to lament. TMI - I'm a lower back sweater which is actually ideal when shooting TV shows in hot, sweltering, humid Toronto.
Our #Boston client is coming to Toronto the beginning of next week so we are in high gear making sure everything is ready for her to approve so we can order and get this show on the road!! Actually, we're in a great place and things are coming together beautifully. Love it when a plan gels like this!
Prior to a big Summit Meeting I draw a lot. This is how I problem solve. This is how I decide what fabric goes on what, what furniture piece we need, what accessories and art will bring the space together.
More drawing & assigning. We finished off all of the 2nd floor today. Paint Colours chosen. Wall finishes & wallpaper options decided upon for final presentation.
The Guest Room. We are going for a Palm Springs meets Bahamian Colonial Refuge here. A little nod to Pucci in the space for the Fashion Lovers in the room.
We have a problem in the powder room. There is built in cabinetry in the bathroom currently in red. I know. There is a - HOLD THE PHONE - vessel sink in there and a taupe toilet and mocha limestone floors. It's NOT in the budget to rip out the floors. So I found a - HOLD FOR IT - taupe vessel sink to replace the REALLY UGLY Vessel SINK and we'll have an Ugly but looks like it matches Vessel sink in the room. It's all the brown/taupe/mocha though... everywhere else in the house we are use bright pops of colour. I was trying to figure out how to ditch the Asian Chinois aesthetic in red/brown/bronze in favour of our blue/white/grey/gold/fuchsia love affair throughout the rest of the house.
And then I went through my wallpaper stores and VOILA.
Design Gods Deliver in Spades. Sweet Nectar of the Gods. AMEN. Allah I love you. Yahweh you are ACES!
We have a few fireplaces in the house that need some surround love. THIS IS LOVE. I may actually be speechless.
Thursday evening we attended the Andrew Richard Designs' #StayFoolish Summer Party. AMAZING. The notables: Toben Catering. OH MY FARKING GOD SO GOOD. Daniel et Daniel always great and the Food Guys were awesome too. The Bartenders free poured and really didn't know much about bartending. There was little to no air movement which enabled us to get a date night out with great peeps to run into and yet still be home in time to put Luke to bed. LOVE IT. Great florals. Top notch event. Friday we have Luke's Nursery School Graduation - goodbye Toddler Group and Hello Pre-K! Saturday we have a wedding out at a client's estate (their estate, their wedding) and Sunday we have a brunch. I think my diet is going to be tested to the max. SO. HARD. TO. NOT. CHEAT. A. BIT. AT. EACH. It's a good thing it's hot. Hot = no appetite. Oh and the other good thing about leaving the event early - my feet only ache to the point of wincing vs full blown crippled Redhead. Client arrives on Monday.
